Luke helped me with my grad school application, giving me reminders that I’m talented enough to make my portfolio and to have faith in my abilities.
Coaching and consulting to build a life around your creativity
You want to do more with your creative energy.
You want a job that's aligned to your creative side.
You want to run your own creative business, or you’re already running one and it’s a handful and you’re exhausted.
You're applying to grad schools or college in the arts.
Maybe you simply want to express yourself more fully.
Do you have a dream but you're not taking action?
What we want is on the other side of what’s difficult to do.
What are the practical conditions, the everyday circumstances of your life and how they intersect with your work?
The practicals might be particular to your industry/medium, but they seem to shake out to skills, space, time, community and audience. Another way to look at it: you need to get good at doing your thing in a space in which you can do it, within a life that affords you time and support, for an audience that appreciates what you're doing.
Skills, space, time, community and audience. Can you rate yourself on these things?
And then there are your Inner Workings, again different for everyone but generally originating in a mix of fear and shame, and manifesting as anxiety, imposter syndrome, ADHD, procrastination, failure to start, failure to complete and the list goes on.
What blocks us is a collusion of Inner Workings and External Conditions. Often, our Inner Workings cause our External Conditions.
I made two worksheets that are free to download, one to help you evaluate your External Conditions, the other your Inner Workings.

We go around, over, under, straight through... or we blow it the hell up.
Together, we work on overcoming the stuff that’s in the way.
- Step 1: We figure out what you want.
- Step 2: We look at your strengths and what you have in place already and we look at the obstacles in the way.
- Step 3: Figure out actionable steps that move you where you want to go. The actions you take address both practical obstacles and your internal obstacles.
- Step 4: You start executing the actions to build up momentum. Together we keep focused with a killer mindset. I kick your ass or pat your back, depending on what's needed.
- Step 5: Modify plan as needed to make sure you’re moving and optimistic.
Everyone is different, so the work is always different, but this is a useful guide to what we do together.
I’m a lot like you.
Is there a name for this?
This is a mix of coaching and consulting. Coaching for the deep work; consulting because we want to move fast.
Coaching is helping you to find your own answers and actions and make lasting changes to your mindset and self-confidence. Consulting is “let’s do this and get it the hell over with.” Because stuff needs to get done and sometimes hitting it with a hammer works. Whatever is needed to build the results you want and keeps you energized, because it is hard to do anything if your attitude is shitty.
The cross-disciplinary nature of my creative and business life enables me to understand the issues specific to your work, while providing me with a library of ideas and solutions from other experiences. It's one of the positives about working with a super-generalist: ideas rather than orthodoxy.

We schedule a Zoom to see if you accomplish more with me involved.
There’s nothing better than starting the day with a good conversation over coffee or breakfast, and that is how I like to begin coaching relationships as well. Click the button below to schedule a Zoom. If none of the times listed work for your schedule, shoot me a message and we’ll work something out that’s convenient for you.

Have you ever been halfway to a dream and the only thing that you need from someone else is a nice swift kick in the pants?
I did (and still do).
I wanted to get into Grad school for Creative Writing. I want to be a writer.
However, the only motivation I had was limited to what I had inside myself.
That’s when Luke came into my coffee shop one day as a friendly, chatty client and asked me what I like to do while I was making his coffee. I showed him some of my work and he believed in me.
Luke helped me with my grad school application, giving me reminders that I’m talented enough to make my portfolio and to have faith in my abilities.
In the Fall of 2025 I will be starting my Master’s of English- Creative Writing at Concordia University.
Can’t wait to see how far I can go with Luke’s wind in my sails.

After finishing one of the most high profile projects I have ever been involved with, I was at junction where I had to figure out what I was going to do next. I have always struggled with prioritizing and been fascinated in many areas of music creation and production, engineering and composing, and working with Luke helped me figure out what I REALLY wanted to make happen, and then to make that vision a reality, whilst also helping me navigate some particularly tricky negotiations, in a way that was so fun as well as inspirational and it felt like hanging out when we had our sessions but they were also always supremely productive and I felt like I had a mentor to brainstorm with as well as someone helping me steer in the right direction for me, now.
There wasn’t a single platitude or any cheesy pseudo-psych speak. Something that REALLY helped was that not only was Luke coaching me as far as business development and personal development, but he, as someone who has had different roles in the music industry over decades, totally understands the worlds we work in – he is a specialist and so no time is wasted explaining how our business works or what doing something on spec means or what any typical terms and unusual customs are – he gets it, that it’s about relationships and reputation, and Luke is incomparable in terms of both. I cannot believe how lucky I am to have crossed paths with Luke and got to work with him in this way. He has also found a way to kick my ass into action at a much faster rate, while also being accommodating and flexible – a very good balance that works.
Thank you Luke!! I cannot recommend him highly enough – why not?! I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’d never worked with a coach before, but as soon as we started out first session I knew this was invaluable and I had found the right person to help me get to the next level and beyond.

I went to Luke for help with my creative efforts because he knows the terrain. He’s lived it and I haven’t. Luke is highly intelligent, caring, intuitive and accomplished. It’s hard enough to find creative people with real world accomplishments, and those who have them don’t always have the time, inclination or ability to help others.
Choosing to develop or explore my creative potential and ‘put it out there’ comes in waves. Sometimes I am up and running. Other times I don’t know why or how. I battle my doubts and demons with varying degrees of success and it’s a lonely business. Not knowing whether this is normal or necessary or if I’m stuck in a loop is where coaching has really helped. Luke always seems to know where I am on my path because he knows the terrain. Unlike subject matter experts, where the terrain is completely rational and external, the creative terrain is largely internal, more abstract and definitely more emotionaly or psychological. At least it is for me, and Luke has really helped me navigate it.

Luke is an oasis. If you’re creative or stuck in a very unusual situation that you think no one will understand, Luke is your destination. His wide-ranging experiences and compassion uniquely converge to provide direction suited to your specific situation. Luke’s coaching is decidedly not the generic approach taken by coaches looking to reach a mainstream client base. He understands how artists think and struggle, because of his own lived experience.

Luke is a legend. After hearing me go on about my lifelong passion for music, he threw down a challenge: write a piece on my favorite record of all time—Random Access Memories (2013) by Daft Punk. So, I did. Then I wrote another. And another. Before I knew it, Vault of Marco was born. That moment unlocked a door I didn’t even realize existed, bringing me one step closer to my dream of becoming a music journalist.
